Fun Family Weekend

** This was written last Tuesday 3/29, but I got busy (which is easy with 2 little ones) and forgot to publish it. **

We had a great family weekend which was something I truly needed with the fact that I am returning to work this week (tomorrow actually). Pat had Saturday-Monday off and then ended up getting Friday off. So, we had a 4 day family weekend with no major agenda.

Friday:
We spent the morning sleeping in (as much as we possibly can with a 5 year old and a 12 week old). Then we headed out for the day. We stopped at Apple Market and picked up some sandwiches and ice cold cokes (something I've been limiting lately) and headed to the park. There we had a picnic lunch. Then Wyatt had fun playing on all the equipment with his dad while Gavin and I chilled out watching them. After that we stopped by Oh Snap! Cupcakes and treated ourselves to a delicious afternoon snack (which did not help with my diet, but it was sooo good!). Then we headed to Joe Patti's and picked up some fish for dinner. When we came home Pat cooked up a delicious dinner of grilled catfish topped with shrimp etoufe while Wyatt played outside and enjoyed the spring air some more.

Saturday:
This morning we introduced Wyatt to the Disney movie Pincohhio. He rarely sits to watch a movie all the way through, but he finished the majority of this one. I think he enjoyed it. After having to go to a funeral we spent the evening with Pat's family. It was a very relaxed day.

Sunday:
We were able to attend church as a family for the first time in over 3 months. It was great to fellowship together. Then we came home and had a simple lunch followed by nap/rest time for everyone. After this we took a shopping trip to Target so I could pick up some things before heading back to work. Then we ate dinner at Sonic Drive In which happens to be Wyatt's favorite place to eat these days! When we returned home, Pat and Wyatt made pralines that were devoured in less than 2 days! They were soo delicious.

Monday:
We rose early and headed out to the Gulf Breeze Zoo. We had a good time, but we could have probably saved our money and just let Wyatt play in the yard. He was not interested in the animals at all. He preferred looking for sprinklers everywhere and pulling them up. I was disappointed to find that the giraffe stand was gone. I alwasy enjoyed going up to the top and feeding the giraffes. I did enjoy seeing the black bears that were in the old gorilla area. They were absolutely adorable. I was also able to get a good picture of a peacock who had his feathers spread out! After our zoo adventure we enjoyed a pizza lunch. Then we drove around while the boys napped in the car before heading over to Target (again). This time I picked up some new clothing for Wyatt because I realized his shirts were getting too short on him. We then visited with my grandparents for a while before coming home. Pat cooked another amazing meal! This time it was shrimp stirfry. I'm so glad I married a chef! We then enjoyed the spring night air as we took a mile and a half walk around our neighborhood.

All in all it was a great weekend! Now it's back to the working world for me bright and early in the morning. Hopefully these next 4 weeks will go by quickly so I can enjoy spring break with my boys!
