Exciting Days Ahead

So, I've still not kept up with this blog and I apologize for all 2 of you that read! I really wanted to be one of those insightful people with words that could capture an audience, but I've realized that I'm not that person. Instead, I'm just a busy mom and wife who struggles to keep her head above the water most days. Now onto the topic at hand though.

We are entering some exciting (and nerve wracking) days in the very near future. We are on our way to buying a new house. It's been a whirlwind this last month and a half as it all came to be. One of my coworkers and I were talking one Friday about how my house is so small now that Gavin is here (we have a 970 sq. ft. town home with 2 bedrooms). He sleeps in our room as Wyatt's room is not big enough for a bed, crib, and dresser (plus all his toys) and keeps me awake quite often with all the moving and noises he makes. Suddenly she reminded me that she and her husband would be moving later in the summer and that his dad would be putting the house up for sale. When she mentioned what the price might be, I told her that was out of our price range and that was the end of the conversation and we went on our separate ways home.

Fast forward 24 hours and my phone rings. It's her calling to let me know her father in law is selling the house for much cheaper and it turns out it's the exact price we are willing to spend. So, we load the kids up in the car and go to look at the house which we completely fall in love with. It's only a few min. away from where we live now, which is a great thing. That means we are still within 10 min. of each of our parents, my job, the interstate, the gas station, the grocery store, etc. The house has everything we are looking for. It has a 2 car garage, a big family room, 3 bedrooms, a dining room (which will probably be the play room), an eat in kitchen, and a screened in back porch (that can easily be converted to a Florida room), and it's on almost 1/2 an acre. So plenty of yard for the boys to play in! On the back of the property is another small house that has a full kitchen, family room, bathroom and bedroom. This will be great for family and friends that are traveling and need a place to stay.

This house is completely from God. We had given up ever finding a house in our price range in this part of town with all of our requirements and that's when God blessed us beyond what we deserve. So, now we just have to wait for the bank's appraisal and the inspections. Then we'll close at the beginning of July and be on our way!

The only other hurdle is us having to sell our house. However, God has completely had His hand in this all along and I'm trusting that He's got someone ready to buy our house at the right time. Until then I'm going to enjoy this tiny house and all the memories it holds within it's walls. And I pray that one day it'll be as much of a blessing to another family as it has been to us for the last 7 years.
