Back at it?

Life has been busy and crazy the last few months.

We had a good Thanksgiving and a good but sad Christmas time. My grandpa fell on Christmas Eve and broke his neck. He spent Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas in the hospital in surgeries to repair it. He then spent some time in ICU but never really woke up. He was moved to Hospice right before New Year's Eve and passed away in the early morning of Jan. 3. In less than 3 years I have lost the two most influential men in my life, my dad and my grandpa. The only consolation that comes is knowing that they are in Heaven with our Heavenly Father both in much healthier stronger bodies than what they had on here on Earth. There was a peace in finding out that my grandpa had at one point in his life accepted Christ as his Savior. But, it doesn't take away the pain and hurt of losing 2 great men. I just pray that I can pass on their legacy to my boys. I'm so thankful that Wyatt got to have 3 years with his grandpa and 6 years with his great grandpapa and that Gavin gets to carry on his grandpa's name.

On a much lighter note both boys celebrated their birthdays during the holiday season! Wyatt turned 6 and just 5 days later Gavin turned 1. I can't believe how fast time is going by. We are now half way through the school year. Wyatt is excelling in school and learns so quickly. Although if you ask him he'll tell you they don't learn anything in Kindergarten. He made E's (highest you can get) in reading the first 2 grading periods and S's in all other subject areas. He brought his citizenship up from N to S! I would say he's finally adjusting to school. We never put him in preschool so this is his first experience other than Sunday School to be with other kids for a long period of time. He's taking AR tests in school now, which is good for a Kindergartner. I just pray he'll continue to be a life long learner and keep his love for learning. Gavin continues to fill our days with joy. He doesn't say anything yet, but he doesn't need to. He's got us all pegged and gets everything he wants or needs by pointing and grunting! :)
